Our team is made up of cabin counselors, programs counselors, and leadership team. We have a license nurse on campus overseeing all medication administration and first aid needs.
Our counselors are selected after a thorough application process and are well equipped for the weekend. Counselors apply, interview, and complete background checks before being selected to serve at UGC.
Counselors then participate in a weekend training retreat where they learn positive behavior management, medication administration, safety procedures, and do their own in-depth study of the conference topic. Our counselors pray and prepare for this conference weeks ahead of time to be ready physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
Campers are given camper booklets with different options for interactive note taking. Counselors sit among campers during lessons and help adapt and explain lessons on the spot as needed.
Small groups are a unique way for campers to discuss what they learned during sessions and engage in interactive activities to better understand. Small groups are made based on camper’s understanding of faith as answered in the application.
